It’s the middle of summer, and for a lot of us, that means spending time outside in the sun and enjoying the warm weather. That makes this an important time to focus on staying hydrated. Today, we’re going to talk about why hydration matters!

Our bodies are mostly water, so proper hydration is a key part of taking care of your health. Every tissue in your body needs water to function properly! Staying hydrated helps you regulate your body temperature, carries nutrients to your cells, and helps flush bacteria from your system. It helps your heart more easily pump blood throughout your body. It helps your muscles function effectively. It can help you feel more energetic and alert, and it plays key roles in your heart, brain, and muscle function.
Tracking how much water you’re drinking is a great way to make sure you’re staying hydrated. An easy way to estimate how much water you should drink on a daily basis is to take your weight and divide it in two. That’s the number of ounces of water you should be drinking every day. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you’ll want to drink about 75 ounces of water. Keep in mind that the water you use for your Yoli drinks counts toward your daily total!
Tips for Hydration
Here are a few tips to stay hydrated!
- Drinking when you’re thirsty may sound like a no-brainer, but thirst is your body’s way of telling you that you need to drink more water. Make sure you’re listening to your body!
